Last night I discovered that this blog had been hacked. I’ve no idea how they were doing it, but someone was posting a load of links to seriously bad sites in my posts using a hidden bullet list. I’ve no idea how long it was going on, how they did it or most importantly what damage it has done with Google.
I’m just glad I found it and was able to act upon it and now I will be monitoring my blog posts closely to make sure I have nipped this in the bud.
You might be interested to know how I found this out as it was completely by accident. I was reading some web page about someones google rankings dropping and they posted a link to a Bad Neighbourhood tool. This tool basically checks the links on a site to see if any are going off to sites that have a bed reputation with the search engines. So out of pure curiosity I tried it with my blog and was horrified to see all these bad links come up.
If your interested here is a link to the bad neighbourhood tool.

The link to the tool isn’t working - but I found it on google and tested my own site. Good tip.
