Hi,

I'm afraid I've never tried to test it on a local machine so I've not come across any of the problems your having.

I can tell you my host php is 4.4.2-1build1 and MySQL is 5.0.22-0.

I've not had any issues with any version of wordpress, right up to 2.6, although I haven't yet put 2.6 on this blog.

Sorry I can't be more help, perhaps someone else reading might have more experience with it.

Hi Steve,

Do you have problems running these latest versions of Wordpress on your local machine, thats if you tried installing WP on a local maching running WAMP.

Because, I have wamp on my windows xp machine, and everytime I view my wordpress page, apache crashes for no reason. It'll come as "http stopped responding and needs to close....".

I have tried with both php4 and php5.
Does some apache/php modules have compatibility problems with wordpress(2+)
