All these are great tips, but your #1: Environment is key. It is basically impossible to have a home office that doesn't close off from everyone and every distraction in your house. I think a bedroom conversion is the best as it can truly be closed off to be your space.

Yes your right Ren, I have a daugter myself who is 3 and that can be challenging, we've had to teach her that even when Daddy is home there are times that he is working and not available. It works most of the time, but still sometimes she will wander in and want to play. It's hard to turn down a pouting little 3 year old :)

This post is interesting, and if you permit , I would like to add one more point on the subcategory no 4 Avoid Distractions- IF you are a father of a young kid age 1-5 please go to a room where he cannot reach you. I am a father myself and my boy 1 and half years old will do anything to keep me away from my computer

Regards
Ren

Yes that is the toughest part of all, you just have to keep plugging away at it. If your passionate enough about wanting it, you will find your way.

I'm hoping to graduate into working from home soon, I'm finding it difficult to get paid as much as going out to work.
